
Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University Signs MoU with Lemonchilli Farm to Boost Exotic Vegetable Cultivation and Export Standards

In the pursuit of enhancing yield and productivity in exotic vegetable cultivation and meeting exportable vegetable standards, Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University, Mulugu, joined hands with Lemonchilli Farm, Hyderabad, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 21st July 2023.
The MoU signing took place at the Head Office of the University in the presence of Honorary Vice Chancellor, Dr. Mrs. B. Neeraja Prabhakar, and other esteemed University officials. Y. Janardhan Rao, Director of Lemonchilli Farm, and Ritish Velkuru, representing the farm, signed the agreement.
The primary objective of this collaboration is to provide technical guidance and essential inputs from the University to elevate the standards of cultivation for exotic vegetable crops. With a focus on quality produce, the University aims to support farmers in the state to meet the stringent requirements necessary for exporting vegetables internationally. Dr. B. Neeraja Prabhakar, the Vice Chancellor, emphasized that adhering to export standards can lead to substantial net profits for farmers.
Furthermore, the partnership will also facilitate the conduction of the Horticulture Industrial Attachment Program for University students, fostering a practical understanding of the horticulture industry. Lemonchilli Farm, Hyderabad, will play a crucial role in this program by cooperating and providing valuable insights into the horticultural practices they employ.
The MoU signing ceremony witnessed the active participation of several dignitaries from Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University. Alongside Vice Chancellor Dr. B. Neeraja Prabhakar, other notable attendees included Dr. A. Bhagavan, Registrar & Director of Research, Dr. A. Kiran Kumar, Dean of Horticulture, Comptroller & Director of Extension, Dr. M. Rajasekhar, Dean of PG studies & Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Natarajan Senivasan, Controller of Examinations, and Dr. D. Vijaya, Dean of Student Affairs.
This collaborative effort between the University and Lemonchilli Farm is expected to invigorate the horticulture sector, encourage sustainable practices, and drive economic growth for farmers in the region.
