AIPEF Delegation Meets Secretary of Power, Pankaj Agarwal, to Discuss Electricity Sector Developments

New Delhi, 27th July 2023: Today, a delegation from the All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF), led by Chairman Shailendra Dubey and Secretary General P. Rathnakar Rao, along with other office-bearers, convened a meeting with Pankaj Agarwal, IAS, Secretary of Power, Government of India, at New Delhi. The purpose of the meeting was to extend a warm welcome to the newly appointed Secretary of Power and deliberate on the prevailing scenario in India’s electricity sector.

The AIPEF representatives engaged in comprehensive discussions with Secretary Agarwal concerning various crucial aspects of the electricity sector in India. Among the prominent topics of discussion were the Electricity Amendment Bill, Renewable Energy integration, Grid stability, Power demand and supply, Pumped storage, Battery storage, Agriculture supply, consumer rights, Standards of performance, and the aspect of skilled manpower.

During the meeting, Secretary Agarwal emphasized that the electricity sector is undergoing significant changes to address the rising demand for power and enhance customer service standards. He emphasized the need for a collaborative approach in tackling the challenges faced by the sector.

The AIPEF delegation expressed its appreciation for the government’s efforts in bringing about transformative changes in the electricity sector while also conveying their commitment to working together in meeting the sector’s evolving demands and ensuring uninterrupted power supply to consumers across the nation.
