82 Tourists Rescued from Stranded Situation Amid Heavy Rain in Telangana
Hyderabad, July 27: Eighty-two tourists who were stranded in a forest in Telangana’s Mulugu district due to heavy rain were successfully rescued on Thursday. The tourists had gone to visit the Mutyam Dhara waterfall but became stranded when overflowing water blocked their passage on Wednesday.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and district police conducted a joint rescue operation after receiving a distress call from one of the tourists via the Dial-100 helpline, alerting authorities about their stranded situation in the dense forest.
In another incident, some individuals are also reported stranded in Bhupalpalli due to the heavy rains.
Director General of Police Anjani Kumar stated that police teams are working to reach these critical areas and ensure the safety of those affected by the adverse weather conditions.
He further praised the dedication and efforts of police constable officers, particularly the senior officers who are actively leading the rescue and relief operations.
