Mark Zuckerberg made an announcement on Thursday about a new feature in WhatsApp that allows users to instantly record and share video messages in chats.
According to Meta’s founder and CEO, the process is as simple as sending a quick voice message.
WhatsApp mentioned in a statement that these video messages enable real-time responses in 60 seconds, allowing users to express themselves with emotions and actions.

Switching to video mode is just a tap away, and holding the button enables easy video recording. Additionally, users can swipe up to lock and record videos hands-free.
The videos will initially play on mute when opened in a chat, but tapping on the video will activate the sound. To ensure privacy, all video messages are protected with end-to-end encryption.
While WhatsApp has offered the option to send videos before, this new feature streamlines the process, making it quicker and more convenient for users.
The video message feature is currently rolling out on both iOS and Android versions of WhatsApp and will be available to all users in the upcoming weeks.
