Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan pays homage to Gaddar with voice message

‘He was my Brother,guru and mentor’

Hyderabad: Jana Sena Party president and actor Pawan Kalyan paid his last respects to the legendary folk singer and poet Gaddar, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 77, with a voice message. Kalyan recorded a heartfelt message in Telugu and shared it on his official Twitter handle. He said that he was deeply saddened by the demise of Gaddar, whom he considered as his guru and mentor.

Kalyan said that Gaddar’s songs and poems were like a guiding light for him and many others who fought for the cause of Telangana and social justice. He said that Gaddar was a rare personality who combined art, literature, politics, and activism in a unique way. He said that Gaddar was not only a singer, but also a philosopher, a teacher, a leader, and a friend.

Kalyan also thanked Gaddar for his support and blessings to the Jana Sena Party and its ideology. He said that Gaddar always encouraged him to work for the welfare of the people and the nation. He said that he would always cherish the memories of his interactions with Gaddar and follow his footsteps.

Kalyan also expressed his solidarity with the family members and fans of Gaddar and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

Gaddar, whose original name was Gummadi Vittal Rao, was a prominent figure in the Naxalite-Maoist insurgency as well as the separate statehood agitation for Telangana. He founded the Jana Natya Mandali, a cultural wing of the Maoist movement, and composed hundreds of songs on various issues affecting the oppressed and marginalized sections of the society. He was also a recipient of several awards and honors for his contribution to the Telugu culture and literature.
