
Hyderabad, August 28 In a bid to promote environmental consciousness and sustainable agriculture practices, Finance and Health Minister, Harish Rao, unveiled the brochure for the 14th Grand Nursery Mela, scheduled to kick off on the 31st of this month. The event will be part of the All India Horticulture and Agriculture Show, a six-day extravaganza set to take place at Necklace Road People’s Plaza.
Minister Harish Rao emphasized the importance of tree planting in securing a better future for generations to come. He announced that the show, spanning six days, will feature an array of horticultural and agricultural exhibits, including horticulture products, fruits, vegetable gardens, fertilizers, organic products, agricultural energy-saving technology, agricultural science, education, and food industry products.

Notably, the event will showcase cutting-edge technologies, such as hot climate apple cultivation, dragon fruit farming, innovative plant varieties, hydroponic systems, terrace gardening, and vertical gardening.
The event is set to host over 150 nursery stalls from across the country, with participants coming from various regions, including West Bengal’s Darjeeling and Kolkata, Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, Mumbai, Pune, Shirdi in Maharashtra, Bangalore in Karnataka, Chennai and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, Kadiam in Andhra Pradesh, among others. These stalls will feature a diverse selection of plants representing their respective states.

Khalid Ahmed, the in-charge of the fair, provided logistical details, stating that the event will run from the 31st of August to the 5th of September, with operating hours from 9 am to 10 pm at Necklace Road. Additionally, he announced the presence of a unique attraction: a tissue culture variety date farm from Saudi Arabia, offering a rare opportunity for visitors to explore agricultural practices from abroad.
