Hyderabad, August 31
- The 14th Grand Nursery Mela was officially inaugurated on Thursday at the Necklace Road People’s Plaza, with Agriculture Special Commissioner Hanumant Zendage and Agros MD Ramulu leading the opening ceremony. During the event, it was emphasized that prioritizing greenery is essential to create a pleasant environment for future generations.

Agriculture Special Commissioner Hanumant Zendage highlighted the collective responsibility of safeguarding the environment and commended the significant increase in green cover in the state due to government-led greening initiatives and forest revival efforts. He also praised the organizers for hosting the grand nursery fair, named All India Horticulture, which brings together diverse plant varieties from across the country in one accessible location.
Agros MD Ramulu emphasized the availability of plants grown in nurseries across the nation and encouraged individuals to consider kitchen gardens, vertical gardens, and terrace gardens as hobbies. He noted that engaging in gardening not only provides mental relaxation and oxygen but also reduces work-related stress. Ramulu urged the establishment of small gardens in urban areas to combat the growth of concrete jungles, underscoring the shared responsibility of preserving green spaces for improved health and a pleasant environment. Planting trees today, he added, secures a better future for generations to come, suggesting a collective movement towards plantation.

The Grand Nursery Mela, featuring over 150 stalls from various states, will run daily from 9 am to 9 pm until September 5. The event offers a diverse range of products, including rare plants, seeds, fertilizers, and gardening equipment. Visitors can explore and purchase a variety of plants, including flowers, fruits, and gardening essentials, all conveniently available in one place. This event presents an excellent opportunity for city dwellers looking to establish home gardens, terrace gardens, vertical gardens, or kitchen gardens.

Incharge of the Mela, Khalid Ahmed, assured attendees of the availability of high-quality plants and grafted varieties from nurseries.

The event promises to be a unique and beneficial experience for both gardening enthusiasts and those interested in embracing greenery in their lives.
