Hyderabad, September 13 – In a clever move to raise awareness about cybercrimes, the Cyberabad police in Hyderabad orchestrated a practical lesson for passersby. They strategically placed a wallet with a visible currency note on the road, enticing people to pick it up. However, what seemed like a potential windfall turned out to be a well-executed prank.
The wallet, seemingly containing a tempting Rs. 500 currency note, was, in fact, a creative pamphlet aimed at educating the public about cybercrimes.
Upon picking up the wallet and eagerly opening it, individuals were met with a surprising message. The flyer inside read: “Real vs Rogue, Just like this wallet, online fakes abound. If you are a cyber victim and lost money call 1930 Stay vigilant Stay secure.”
This innovative approach was initiated by the Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau (TSCSB) under the leadership of Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Raveendra. Established in March, the TSCSB is dedicated to combatting cybercrime and enhancing cybersecurity awareness among the public.
