Hyderabad, September 20, 2023: Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, former Dean, Professor & Head of Pharmaceutical Analysis at NIPER, Mohali, Punjab, delivered a powerful message to aspiring young Indians during a one-day workshop on ‘Pursuit for an Inspired Career in the Pharma Sector’ held at GITAM School of Pharmacy (GSP) in Hyderabad.

Addressing the audience, Prof. Saranjit emphasized the importance of setting ambitious goals and urged young Indians not to settle for stereotypical jobs. He encouraged them to consider high-tech and scientific careers, particularly in innovation R&D, as a path to a brighter future. He cautioned against the lure of low-cost labor, reminding the audience that proficiency in English alone is insufficient for success.

Prof. Saranjit underlined the abundance of core pharmaceutical job opportunities in India and urged students to seize these prospects. He stressed the significance of individual counseling and the development of well-rounded skills in the competitive landscape of the future. Good communication, discipline, and knowledge were identified as key attributes for career excellence.

Furthermore, Prof. Saranjit emphasized the value of inspired entrepreneurship and encouraged students to explore unconventional possibilities in the industry. He proudly noted that India contributes significantly to global pharmaceutical production and predicted a similar impact in Pharma and Health-related futuristic technologies.

Looking ahead, Prof. Saranjit discussed the challenges of developing new medicines to address currently incurable diseases. He highlighted the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in pharmaceutical research and development, noting its role in identifying and validating new drug targets, enhancing safety and efficacy assessments, and improving patient stratification.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. P. Hyma, Assistant Professor at GSP, and Prof. G.S. Kumar, Principal of GSP, felicitating the esteemed guest. The event left attendees inspired and motivated to pursue exceptional careers in the pharmaceutical sector, with a vision of contributing to India’s ascent as a global superpower.
