Hyderabad, October 1, 2023: K.T. Rama Rao, the Working President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), defended his party against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent characterization of BRS as a “family party.” Speaking at a public meeting in Mahabubnagar, Rao asserted that BRS represents a family of four crore people in Telangana, with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) at its helm.

Rama Rao responded to PM Modi’s remarks, which had criticized the party’s leadership structure, by emphasizing KCR’s role in the lives of Telangana residents. He stated that Chief Minister KCR has played a paternal role by providing pensions to the elderly and a brotherly role by implementing initiatives like Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bheema for farmers. Rao, who is the son of the Chief Minister, declared that KCR is a member of every Telangana family.

Additionally, Rama Rao expressed his belief that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would not retain its deposits in the forthcoming Telangana elections.

While addressing public gatherings in Chennur, Ramagundem, and Peddapalli constituencies, Rama Rao accused PM Modi of deceiving the people of Ramagundam by auctioning Singerani coal mines in an effort to privatize Singareni.

He alleged that the Prime Minister’s strategy was to drive state-run companies into losses and later privatize them for corporate interests. Rama Rao also refuted PM Modi’s claim that CM KCR had not waived farm loans in Telangana, pointing out that the Chief Minister had done so twice and urged the Prime Minister not to make unfounded statements.

On social media, Rama Rao emphasized that the people of Telangana were aware of what he perceived as Modi’s deception.

He stated, “People of Telangana are not looking for a change. They desire a change in the national government,” in response to PM Modi’s assertion that the people of Telangana wanted a change.
