Jaipur, December 10

In a significant development, the perpetrators involved in the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, president of the right-wing group Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, have been successfully apprehended in Jaipur. The primary accused individuals, Rohit Rathod and Nitin Fauji, were taken into custody through the joint efforts of the Delhi Crime Branch and the Rajasthan Police. Additionally, a third individual named Udham, who played a role in assisting Rathod and Fauji during their attempt to evade law enforcement, has also been arrested.

The collaboration between the Delhi Crime Branch and Rajasthan Police proved instrumental in tracking down Udham, ensuring a comprehensive operation to bring all three suspects to justice. The trio was transported to Delhi by the authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings. This breakthrough marks a significant step in resolving the case and underscores the effectiveness of inter-agency cooperation in tackling criminal activities.

Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, a prominent Rajput leader and founder of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, was fatally shot in the living room of his house in Jaipur. The assailants, three armed men, engaged in a brief conversation with Gogamedi before opening fire. A video of the incident revealed that the attackers sat with him for at least 10 minutes before the shooting occurred. One of the assailants was killed in retaliatory firing, and Gogamedi’s security guard sustained bullet injuries during the exchange.

Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, known for his involvement in protests against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, had founded his own group, Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, in 2015, following a disagreement with the original Karni Sena. Gogamedi had faced false allegations of rape in 2017, but he was later cleared of all charges. Last year, he gained attention for addressing a Kesariya Mahapanchayat, where he called for legal action against a religious figure.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack on Gogamedi, with a 20-second video capturing the moment when the assailants shot him while he was looking at his phone. The police revealed that the attackers spent at least 10 minutes sitting with Gogamedi before carrying out the shooting.
