Seoul, Dec 11: In a recent incident, a US F-16 fighter jet crashed in western South Korea on Monday during a training exercise. The pilot successfully executed an emergency escape and was safely rescued after the jet went down into the waters following takeoff from the Kunsan Air Base in Gunsan, located 178 km south of Seoul.
Sources reported that the fighter jet, owned by the US Forces Korea, crashed into the waters during the training exercise. An ongoing investigation is focused on determining the precise cause of the crash.
