Ayodhya, Dec 11: In anticipation of the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla’s idol on January 22, 2024, a grand procession featuring tableaux depicting key episodes from the Ramayana will take place in Ayodhya on January 17. The highlight of the procession will be the selected statue of Ram Lalla, which will find its place in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum.

The tableaux will showcase statues based on 100 episodes from the Ramayana, each crafted by chief sculptor Ranjit Mandal. Over 60 idols have already been prepared, illustrating Lord Ram’s life from his gurukul days to exile and his triumphant conquest of Ravan’s Lanka.

Anil Mishra, a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, shared details about Ram Lalla’s throne, which will be positioned on a marble lotus flower pedestal within the sanctum sanctorum.

The throne’s height will be determined by the rotation of the earth and sun, ensuring that on Ram Navami, precisely at 12 noon, the sun’s rays touch Ram Lalla’s idol, illuminating the temple. On Friday, the Ram temple Trust will select the best idol from among three sculptures crafted by different artists.

Renowned sculptors Ganesh Bhatt, Arun Yogiraj, and Satyanarayan Pandey are working on these idols, which are 90% complete and undergoing finishing touches. Furthermore, plans are underway to transform the local Ram Katha Sangharalaya into a world-class museum.

Chief Curator of the National Museum, Sanjeev Singh, has been assigned the task of developing the museum.
