Encounter with Naxals on Chhattisgarh Border: Two Naxals Neutralized, Including Key Conspirator

Today, credible intelligence was received regarding a sizable contingent of Naxals camping near Bodhintola, approximately 10 km from the last outpost Godalwahi near Mohalla Manpur District of Chhattisgarh. The Naxals reportedly had intentions to carry out sabotage, ambush police forces, and target innocent tribals by labeling them as police informers.

Promptly responding to the intelligence, police parties were dispatched to conduct search operations in the area. During the search, the Naxals opened indiscriminate fire on the police forces, leading to a one-hour-long exchange of fire. As a result, two male Naxals were neutralized, and their bodies were recovered. The deceased were found in possession of an AK47 and a SLR weapon. Preliminary identification indicates that one of them is Durgesh Watti, Deputy Commander of Kasansur Dalam, and a key conspirator in the Jambulkheda blast of 2019, where 15 Gadchiroli Police personnel lost their lives.

Operations and search efforts in the area are ongoing, and further details will follow.
