Following the circulation of a viral video showcasing a man performing a dangerous stunt by hanging from an auto-rickshaw on Delhi’s Signature Bridge, the Delhi Traffic Police have taken swift action. The vehicle involved has been impounded, and a challan has been issued to its driver, identified as Shiva from Ghaziabad, officials confirmed on Thursday.
The video, widely shared on social media, captures the auto-rickshaw maneuvering on the Signature Bridge with a man perilously hanging from it. The footage also captures a collision with a cyclist on the left, recorded by a helmet-mounted camera on a passing motorcyclist, spotlighting the recklessness of the incident.
A senior traffic police official stated, “The auto involved has been impounded, and Shiva has been located by Delhi Traffic Police personnel. Legal repercussions are imminent.”
In response to the viral video, the Delhi Traffic Police acted swiftly, tracing the auto and issuing a challan for dangerous driving, driving without a license, and other relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. “Taking cognisance of this viral video, Delhi Traffic Police traced the Auto and challan for Dangerous driving, Without DL, and other appropriate sections of MV Act has been issued,” stated the Delhi Police while sharing the video of the incident.
