Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Announces Generous Traffic Challan Discounts Ahead of National Lok Adalat
In a significant move to provide relief to vehicle owners burdened with pending traffic challans, the Honorable Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, has approved a series of substantial discounts. This announcement comes in anticipation of the Mega National Lok Adalat scheduled for December 30, 2023, supervised by the High Court of Telangana.
Commencing from December 26, 2023, vehicle owners with outstanding challans in the state can take advantage of these discounts by clearing their dues through the E-Challan Traffic website. The online payment option will remain open until January 10, 2024.
The discounts sanctioned by the State Government are as follows:
- Push Carts (39b cases):
- Pay 10%, and 90% is waived off, resulting in a remarkable 90% discount.
- RTC Drivers:
- Enjoy a 10% payment requirement, with an astounding 90% waiver, equating to a 90% discount.
- 2W (Bikes, etc.) and 3W (Autos, etc.):
- Avail a 20% payment obligation, coupled with an 80% waiver, translating to a substantial 80% discount.
- LMVs (Cars, 4W, etc.) and HMVs (Trucks, etc.):
- Settle with a 40% payment, and 60% is waived off, resulting in a significant 60% discount.
During the previous discount offer in March 2022, many commuters from Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda took full advantage of the opportunity, successfully clearing their pending challans. However, it has come to light that individuals from districts and rural areas of Telangana may have missed out on this beneficial scheme due to a lack of awareness.
Vehicle owners are urged to utilize this opportunity and clear their pending challans promptly. The discounted rates present a substantial financial relief and encourage compliance with traffic regulations. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to fostering responsible and lawful road use while ensuring equitable access to relief measures for citizens across the state.
