Tirupati, February 18

 As part of the Brahmotsavam of Kapileswara Swamy in Tirupati, the Mahashivaratri festival was celebrated on Saturday.  Keeping in mind the rush of devotees, special queues, chaluwapandilas and parking spaces have been arranged.  Sarvadarshan started at 5.30 am in the temple.  A large number of devotees visited Kapileswara Swamy and Goddess Kamakshi.

 Bhogiteru procession as a celebration

            As part of Brahmotsavam, Bhogiteru procession was held from 8 to 10 am.  Rathotsavam was held in the city streets amidst the blare of bhajan mandals, bhajans and mangal instruments.

 After that, from 10.30 am to 11.30 am, the priests conducted Snapana Thirumanjanam.  Somaskandamurthy and Goddess Kamakshi were abhisheked with milk, curd, honey, fruit juice and sandalwood.  Upacharas were performed for Swami and Ammavar.

    Temple Deputy EO Devendra Babu, AEO Parthasaradhi, Superintendent Bhupathi, Temple Inspectors Ravikumar, Balakrishna and especially devotees participated in this program.
