Hyderabad is set to host Wings India 2024, India’s largest civil aviation event, at Begumpet Airport from January 18 to 21. Organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Indian Industry (FICCI), the biennial event will feature top players in the aviation industry showcasing innovative technology and aircraft machinery across commercial, general, and business aviation sectors.
The first two days will focus on business discussions, while the remaining two days will be open to the general public. Telangana Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari chaired a coordination meeting to review arrangements for the event, highlighting its larger scale this year with the display of new-generation aircraft, allied aviation services, and participation from high-level dignitaries.
The event will also cover travel, tourism, start-ups, skill development, and career opportunities in the aviation sector. Joint Secretary, Civil Aviation, Asangba Chuba Ao emphasized the opportunity for the state government to showcase its developmental activities during the biennial event.
Key areas of focus for planning include parking arrangements and traffic management. The Chief Secretary instructed police officials to identify alternate parking sites due to an anticipated one lakh visitors during the last two days of the exhibition.
Sanitation measures were emphasized, with directives to scale up garbage collection by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The public will be advised not to throw garbage on roads, and cautionary measures regarding kite flying around the airport area will be issued two days before the event, starting January 16, to avoid hindrance to international aircraft during the exhibition.
