Amaravati, Jan 14: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his wife, Y.S. Bharathi Reddy, immersed themselves in the Sankranti festivities at his camp office here on Sunday, surrounded by rural ambience and a joyous spirit.

Dressed in traditional attire, the Chief Minister and his wife commenced the celebrations by offering prayers at the Goshala, where they worshipped cows. Following this, they visited the Vinayaka, Venkateswara Swamy, and Kanaka Durga temples, extending their devotions. Additionally, they participated in the age-old tradition of offering Biksha to Haridasu and the Sankranti Gangireddu.

Vedic pundits added to the auspiciousness of the occasion by blessing the couple through recitation of hymns.

The camp office premises radiated with Sankranti grandeur, adorned with flowers and traditional Muggulu. The spotlight shone on the replica of Tirumala Silatoranam, enhancing the festive atmosphere. Noteworthy replicas of the village secretariat, Government School, and Rythu Bharosa Kendram also captivated the attention of the guests.

During their visit, the Chief Minister and his wife personally greeted the guests, fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere. The couple kindled the bonfire (Bhogi Manta), a symbolic tradition during Sankranti festivities.

Adding to the joyous occasion, cultural programs and devotional performances by singers such as Sri Lalitha and others entertained the Chief Minister and his wife. In appreciation of the artistes, the Chief Minister later felicitated them.

Prominent leaders from the YSR Congress, including Government Chief Whip Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy, Deputy Chief Ministers Kottu Satyanarayana (Endowments) and Narayana Swamy (Excise and Commercial Taxes), Municipal Administration Minister A. Suresh, YSRCP Regional Coordinator YV Subba Reddy, MP Nandigam Suresh, and other dignitaries, actively participated in the festive celebrations.
