Telangana Forest Department Denies Tiger Sighting in Narketpally, Nalgonda District

Hyderabad, Feb 12: Reports suggesting the sighting of a tiger in Narketpally, Nalgonda district, have been refuted by the Telangana forest department.

In a clarification issued on Monday, the department dismissed claims of a tiger being spotted in Narketpally mandal, asserting that there are no indications of such an occurrence.

The clarification comes in response to media reports alleging a tiger sighting on the outskirts of Edavalli. Upon investigation by district forest officials, no pugmarks or other signs indicative of tiger presence were found in the area. Furthermore, there was no evidence to suggest the presence of a leopard either.

Chief Wildlife Warden M. C. Pargaien consulted with district forest officials to gather information on the matter. They reiterated that there is no likelihood of tiger movement in the area.

Forest officials cautioned against the circulation of social media videos purporting to show tiger sightings in Narketpally mandal, stating that these claims are unfounded. They urged the public not to lend credence to such misinformation.

The forest department emphasized that in the event of tiger or wild animal sightings in any part of the state, individuals can report them by calling the toll-free number 18004255364 or informing local officials.
