Hyderabad, February 27 – Bairi Naresh, who had been provided police protection, was attacked by activists of the Hindu community in Hanumkonda Gopalpur today. The incident occurred when Naresh was being transported in a police vehicle, which was intercepted by the assailants who pulled him out and severely assaulted him.

Naresh had previously been jailed for making controversial remarks against Ayyappa Swamy, which had sparked widespread outrage among Hindutva supporters. Despite receiving protection from the police, Naresh made further statements that incited the ire of the community.

Following the attack, Naresh spoke to the media and accused the police of failing to protect him. He also claimed that he had requested a gun license from the government for his personal safety. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
