Hyderabad, February 27 – The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TSSPDCL) has been awarded the Solar Roof Top Energy Award by the Indian Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented to the DISCOM representative at the 11th Green Energy Summit and 3rd Green Urza and Energy Efficiency program held in Delhi on Monday.
TSSPDCL was recognized for its exceptional efforts in promoting green energy generation as an alternative to coal-fired thermal power generation. The Chairman and Managing Director of TSSPDCL, Raghuma Reddy, announced that the capacity of solar plants in the state has risen from 71 megawatts at the time of its formation to an impressive 5,748 megawatts. Furthermore, the net metering capacity of the solar roof top has reached 259 MW, up from 0.45 MW previously.
Reddy congratulated the TSSPDCL staff for their dedication and hard work in achieving the award. The recognition is a testament to TSSPDCL’s commitment to promoting renewable energy in the region and to make a significant contribution towards a sustainable future.
