In a recent address, K. Taraka Rama Rao, the Working President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), delivered a compelling message regarding the party’s prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. KTR expressed confidence that if BRS secures 10 to 12 MP seats, it would pave the way for the resurgence of his father, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), in state politics. Despite facing numerous challenges, including physical injuries at the age of 70, his son’s incarceration, and the departure of trusted allies to rival parties, KCR remains steadfast in his commitment to connect with the people, often embarking on bus tours to reach out to constituents.

Unity Amidst Adversity

Emphasizing the importance of unity within the party ranks, especially in the face of adversity, KTR rallied party members to stand together in solidarity. He underscored the resilience of BRS in opposing central influence, portraying it as the primary bulwark against external pressures without compromising on constitutional principles.

Critique of Prime Minister Modi

During his impassioned speech, KTR did not mince words in critiquing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance. He lambasted Modi for allegedly reneging on promises made during the 2014 elections, such as the pledge to deposit INR 15 lakhs into each citizen’s Jan Dhan account. KTR also condemned the imposition of toll charges on national highways, despite the considerable tax revenue collected for their construction, portraying it as an unjust burden on the common populace.

Accusations of Electoral Manipulation

In a startling revelation, KTR accused both the Congress and BJP of colluding in electoral malpractice, particularly in constituencies like Karimnagar. He alleged a form of “match-fixing” where dummy candidates are fielded by both parties to influence electoral outcomes, casting doubt on the integrity of the electoral process in certain regions.
