Bengaluru, May 23: The blood samples of two popular Telugu actors who attended a rave party at a farmhouse in Bengaluru on May 20 have tested positive for drug consumption, according to police sources.
Out of the 98 blood samples collected from attendees of the rave party at G.M. Farmhouse in Singena Agrahara, near Electronics City, reports confirmed that 86 individuals had consumed drugs. This group included more than 50 men and close to 30 women, sources revealed.
The special wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police is now preparing to issue notices to these individuals and call them in for questioning.
One of the actresses had previously posted a video from Bengaluru, claiming she was in Hyderabad and denying her presence at the rave party. However, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda later confirmed that the actress was indeed present at the event, where drugs were found and seized. Another prominent Telugu actress admitted attending the party but claimed ignorance about the activities inside and pleaded for public support.
The police raided the rave party on May 20, which was titled “Sunset to Sunrise Victory” and attended by around 100 people, including techies, Telugu actors, and others. Substances such as MDMA, cocaine, and hydro ganja were reportedly used at the party. The police seized these narcotic substances during the raid.
The Karnataka Police are also investigating the possibility of a sex racket operating in conjunction with the drug supply at the party.
Five individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, and the investigation has been transferred from the Electronics City Police Station to the Narcotics Wing of the City Central Crime Branch (CCB).
Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated that the government is committed to making Karnataka a drug-free state and will not tolerate rave parties. He also warned that students who come to Karnataka for studies and are involved in drug consumption and trafficking are being monitored and will be sent back to their home states.
