
HCA Unveils Major Reforms to Boost Cricket in Telangana
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has rolled out a series of groundbreaking reforms aimed at transforming cricket in Telangana, in collaboration with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). At the apex council meeting held on Sunday at Uppal Stadium, HCA President Jaganmohan Rao, Secretary Devraj, Treasurer CJ Srinivas, and Councilor Sunil Agarwal announced several exciting initiatives.
Key Highlights:

- New International Stadium: The HCA is set to initiate talks with the government for the construction of a new international stadium in Hyderabad. This project, once approved, will significantly boost the city’s global cricketing profile.
- District Stadiums: Plans are in motion to build stadiums in two to three district centers in the first phase. Tenders will soon be called for constructing a turf wicket at Mahabubnagar stadium and fencing around Nizamabad stadium.
- Appointment of Venkatesh Prasad: In a major move, discussions are underway to appoint former pacer Venkatesh Prasad as Head of Cricket Operations for the HCA. His expertise is expected to bring a new level of professionalism to the association.
- Clearing Pending Audits: The HCA has cleared pending audits from 2018, which will enable the release of overdue funds from the BCCI. A dedicated committee has been formed to oversee the payment of pending bills.
- Domestic Season Kickoff: The domestic cricket season will commence on July 8. Additionally, a comprehensive roadmap is being prepared to launch a Women’s League Cricket.
- Infrastructure Enhancements: The HCA plans to build a multi-level parking facility at Uppal Stadium. Job notifications for coaches, umpires, groundsmen, and scorers will be released soon.
President Jaganmohan Rao highlighted the importance of these reforms for the advancement and welfare of cricketers in Telangana. He expressed confidence that these initiatives will significantly enhance the state’s cricketing infrastructure and development.
