The government of Andhra Pradesh is set to unveil a new investor-friendly Information Technology policy aimed at attracting significant investment to the state, announced Nara Lokesh, the Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, and Education, on Friday.
During a review meeting with senior officials, Lokesh assessed the current state of the IT and electronics industry in Andhra Pradesh and explored opportunities for establishing new units. He directed officials to take proactive measures to build confidence among potential investors interested in setting up IT and electronics units in the state.
Lokesh emphasized the government’s commitment to creating an investor-friendly IT policy and instructed officials to develop the necessary guidelines. He assured that improved facilities would be provided to the entire IT and electronics industry.
The minister also called for an upgrade to the existing portal that monitors investments in the IT and electronics sectors. Additionally, he requested a report on the available plug-and-play infrastructure in the port city of Visakhapatnam.
Lokesh sought a detailed report on the availability of land in and around Visakhapatnam that could be suitable for establishing new industries. He urged officials to hold regular meetings with potential investors, providing them with essential information and addressing any issues they might face. Lokesh stressed the importance of maintaining a friendly and cooperative approach with industrialists.
The review meeting was attended by key officials, including Secretary of IT and Electronics Kona Sasidhar, Joint Director (Promotions) Surjit Singh, Chief Executive Officer of AP Innovations Society Anil Kumar, and others.
This new IT policy aims to boost the state’s economic growth by fostering a conducive environment for the IT and electronics industry, ultimately attracting more investments and creating job opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
