President Droupadi Murmu, speaking at the fifth convocation of JC Bose University of Science and Technology in Faridabad on Wednesday, highlighted India’s rich heritage, calling on the nation’s youth to become its flag-bearers.

In her address, the President acknowledged the significance of India’s cultural and historical legacy, stating, “India’s rich heritage always makes the nation proud, and the youth must take on the responsibility of preserving and promoting it.”

She also emphasized the importance of the current global era, marked by the Fourth Industrial Revolution. “Today, the whole world is in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. India is ready to face the challenges of this revolution and seize its opportunities,” she remarked. Institutions like JC Bose University, she noted, will play a crucial role in achieving national goals related to this revolution.

President Murmu praised the university for its collaborations with numerous industrial and academic institutions in recent years, including the establishment of centers of excellence by several multinational companies on the campus. These efforts, she expressed, are expected to yield significant positive outcomes for the students and the nation.

Highlighting the transformative power of technology, the President pointed to the increased access to the internet in remote areas, which has opened up numerous online employment opportunities. However, she cautioned that technology must be used responsibly for sustainable development and public interest, as its misuse could have disastrous consequences.

President Murmu also commended JC Bose University for its dedication to making the youth skilled and self-reliant, acknowledging the impressive accomplishments of its alumni in various fields both in India and abroad. She encouraged the university administration to enhance the contribution of the Alumni Association to further benefit the institution and its students.

Reflecting on the university’s namesake, the pioneering scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose, President Murmu noted his groundbreaking work, which scientifically demonstrated that even trees and plants have feelings. She urged students to draw inspiration from Bose’s life and achievements, using technology to bring about positive societal changes.

In closing, the President inspired the students to trust in their abilities and move forward with self-confidence to achieve their goals, reiterating that India’s rich heritage is a source of pride and the youth must carry this legacy forward.
