Case Filed Against Actor Allu Arjun Over Stampede at Pushpa 2 Premiere
Hyderabad, December 05,2024: A case has been registered against film actor Allu Arjun and his security team in connection with the tragic stampede that occurred near Sandhya Theatre, RTC Crossroads, during the release of his movie Pushpa 2. The incident led to the death of a woman and left her son critically injured.
Chikkadapally police acted on complaints filed by Telangana lawyers, led by advocate Tirupati Varma, demanding legal action against Allu Arjun, director Sukumar, and Mythri Movie Makers. The complaint alleges that inadequate arrangements and mismanagement during the event caused the stampede, which claimed the life of Revathi (35) and left her 13-year-old son hospitalized with serious injuries.
The lawyers have also demanded that the film unit take responsibility and provide a compensation of Rs. 1 crore to the family of the deceased. They warned of a legal battle in the High Court if their demands are not met.
Criticizing the actor’s silence over the incident, the lawyers stated that they would continue their fight until justice is delivered to the victims. Meanwhile, police have confirmed that multiple complaints have been received, and further investigation is underway.
This incident has raised serious concerns about safety measures at high-profile public events, especially during film premieres that attract massive crowds.
Central Zone DCP Akansh Yadav has confirmed that a case has been registered against actor Allu Arjun, the Pushpa 2 movie unit, Sandhya Theatre’s owner, and the actor’s security team.
The case, registered at Chikkadapally Police Station, is under Sections 105 and 118(1) read with 3(5) of the BNS Act. This follows the tragic stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of Pushpa 2, which led to the death of a woman and left her son critically injured.
The police are investigating the incident and have assured that those responsible for the mismanagement leading to the chaos will face stringent legal action. Further updates are awaited as the investigation progresses.
