Sritej Suffers Severe Brain Injury Following Pushpa-2 Stampede; Recovery to Take Time
Two weeks after the tragic stampede during the Pushpa-2 premiere at Sandhya Theatre, RTC Cross Roads, Hyderabad, the condition of 10-year-old Sritej remains critical. His mother, Revathi, lost her life in the incident, while Sritej sustained serious injuries and has been under intensive care at KIMS Hospital.
In a recent health bulletin, doctors confirmed that Sritej suffered significant brain damage as a result of the stampede. They indicated that his recovery would be prolonged, requiring extensive treatment and monitoring.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand and State Health Secretary Christina visited KIMS Hospital to check on Sritej’s condition and discuss the next steps with the medical team. Speaking to the media, CV Anand said:
“The health bulletin confirms that Sritej has sustained severe brain injury. His recovery will take considerable time, and he will need ongoing medical care.”
The tragic stampede, which occurred on December 4, has sparked widespread outrage over crowd management at the theatre. Authorities have since launched an investigation into the incident, issuing a show-cause notice to the management of Sandhya Theatre, questioning why their license should not be canceled for alleged negligence.
This incident has reignited discussions about public safety and stricter crowd control measures during high-profile events to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
