Hyderabad: YouTuber’s ‘Money Hunting Challenge’ Sparks Chaos on ORR, Case Filed
Hyderabad, December 18: A viral video titled ‘Money Hunting Challenge’ has landed a local YouTuber in trouble after it triggered public chaos on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Ghatkesar. The accused, identified as 30-year-old Bhanuchander, also known as Anchor Chandu, is a resident of Balanagar in Hyderabad. He has been detained by the police for questioning.
The incident unfolded after Bhanuchander uploaded a video in which he was seen throwing bundles of ₹200 notes along the roadside near ORR exit number 9. He challenged viewers to find and collect the cash, enticing many to rush to the location. The video went viral, leading to a large number of people stopping their vehicles on the ORR to participate in the search, which disrupted traffic and posed significant safety risks.
The situation escalated when the increasing number of participants caused chaos on the high-speed stretch. ORR patrolling personnel were called in to manage the disorder and ensure public safety.
Acting on a complaint, the Ghatkesar Police registered a case against Bhanuchander under Cr. No: 659/2024. He has been booked under Section 125 and 292 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with Section 8(1b) of the National Highway Act, for creating a public nuisance and jeopardizing road safety.
In response to the incident, authorities have heightened security near exit number 9 and implemented strict measures to prevent vehicles from stopping in the area. Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the disruption caused and to decide further legal action against the accused.
The police have urged the public to avoid participating in such stunts, emphasizing the risks to personal safety and the potential legal consequences.
