CM Revanth Reddy Meets Tollywood Leaders, Pledges Support for Industry Growth

Hyderabad, December 26,2024: In a landmark interaction at the Command Control Center, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with prominent leaders of the Telugu film industry to discuss critical issues affecting Tollywood’s growth and its role in Telangana’s development. The meeting highlighted the government’s commitment to the industry, with an emphasis on law and order, industry incentives, tourism promotion, and making Hyderabad an international hub for cinema.

Raghavendra Rao Calls for International Film Festival

Veteran filmmaker K. Raghavendra Rao praised the Telangana government’s proactive approach. “Every Chief Minister has taken good care of the film industry, and this government is no exception. We welcome Dil Raju’s appointment as the Chairman of the Film Development Corporation (FDC). Telangana is blessed with beautiful tourist spots, which can be leveraged for filmmaking. Hyderabad should also host an International Film Festival, just as the Children’s Film Festival was successfully organized here in the past,” he said.

Nagarjuna Advocates for Global Standards in Infrastructure

Actor and producer Nagarjuna Akkineni urged the government to focus on creating infrastructure that meets international standards. “There should be a studio setup on a universal level. Only with government-provided capital incentives can the industry scale to a global level. Our dream is for Hyderabad to emerge as the world cinema capital,” Nagarjuna stated.

Murali Mohan Stresses Promotion and Safety Measures

Actor and politician Murali Mohan expressed concerns about the competitive nature of movie releases. “Promotion has become vital, as films are released simultaneously across the world. The Sandhya Theater incident deeply hurt us, and the loss of a woman’s life has been devastating. Like election results, movies are now judged by their first-day performance,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of safety and urged the government to take necessary measures to prevent such incidents. “The focus on promotion is essential to survive in the current competitive environment,” he added.

CM Revanth Reddy Assures Strict Law Enforcement

Addressing the concerns raised by the industry, CM Revanth Reddy made it clear that his government would prioritize law and order. “We will be serious about incidents like the one at Sandhya Theater. There will be no compromise on law and order, and we will take stringent actions against any negligence. The responsibility to manage fans also lies with the industry and its representatives,” he said.

He also ruled out the continuation of benefit shows, reiterating his commitment to the promises made in the assembly. “The government will not compromise on fairness, and we are here to ensure a level playing field for all,” he stated.

Focus on Social Responsibility and Tourism Promotion

The Chief Minister called on the film industry to play a proactive role in Telangana’s socio-economic development. “The industry should take part in campaigns for drug prevention and women’s safety. Temple tourism and eco-tourism also need to be promoted, and I request your cooperation in driving investments in these areas,” he added.

Suresh Babu and Trivikram Highlight the Industry’s Legacy

Veteran producer Daggubati Suresh Babu expressed confidence in the government’s vision. “Hyderabad’s transformation into an international film destination is a dream that requires collaboration. In the past, the industry moved here from Chennai with government support. Now, Hyderabad should be a safe haven for all global agencies like Netflix and Amazon,” he said.

Writer-director Trivikram Srinivas reflected on the contributions of past leaders. “It was with the efforts of Marri Chenna Reddy and Akkineni Nageswara Rao that the industry was brought to Hyderabad. The current government’s initiatives ensure that we continue on this path of growth,” he said.

Shyam Prasad Reddy and Nagarjuna Call for Strategic Investments

Producer Shyam Prasad Reddy stressed the importance of attention to detail. “Don’t ignore small things. Every effort counts when it comes to taking Hyderabad to the next level,” he said. Nagarjuna echoed this sentiment, calling for strategic investments in state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure.

Government Committed to Industry Growth

The meeting concluded with CM Revanth Reddy reaffirming the government’s commitment to Tollywood. “The government stands with you in all your endeavors. Let’s work together to elevate Hyderabad’s status as a global cinema hub while ensuring the industry’s social responsibility in Telangana’s progress,” he said.

The film fraternity lauded the Chief Minister’s assurances and expressed optimism about the collaborative path forward.
