Govt Ensures Uninterrupted Power Supply for Summer: Dy CM Bhatti Vikramarka
Hyderabad, February 11, 2025: The Telangana government is fully prepared to meet the power demand during the upcoming summer, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply across the state, Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said on Tuesday.
Chairing a review meeting with officials of the Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (SPDCL) at B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat, the Deputy CM assessed last summer’s power consumption, the projected demand for this year, and the preparedness of the energy department to handle it.
He directed officials to ensure that power supply remains undisrupted, even for a minute, emphasizing that electricity is a crucial and sensitive service. He urged officials and staff to stay alert round the clock, holding regular meetings to evaluate their preparedness and create awareness among consumers.

Bhatti Vikramarka stressed that the energy department, from linemen to senior officials, should function as one unit. He instructed field staff to report any issue immediately to their superiors and escalate concerns if necessary, even to him directly.
The government is committed to providing all necessary resources for seamless power supply, he assured, and urged officials to complete the construction of substations and other infrastructure by March 1. He also reviewed the increasing load burden on substations over the past three years.
Highlighting the dedication of power department staff during recent floods, he proposed incentive awards for employees who deliver exceptional service. He also called for awareness programs for staff on advancements in alternative power generation.

To enhance consumer support, he directed officials to widely publicize the emergency helpline number 1912 for power-related complaints. He mandated that every consumer receive an SMS with this number, and that it be printed on electricity bills.
The Deputy CM reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the energy sector by allocating funds for additional manpower and technical support. He also reviewed the availability of equipment and the steps taken to address complaints from the previous year.
The meeting was attended by Energy Department Principal Secretary Sundeep Kumar Sultania, Transco CMD Krishna Bhaskar, SPDCL CMD Musharaff Ali, Energy Department OSD Surender Reddy, and other officials.
