Hyderabad, Feb 17: With the summer season approaching, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed district collectors and irrigation officials to stay vigilant and ensure an uninterrupted water supply for agriculture. Chairing a review meeting alongside Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for timely water releases under various irrigation projects.
Proactive Measures to Address Water Scarcity
Revanth Reddy urged officials to conduct field inspections to assess ground realities and take necessary precautions to prevent water shortages. He stressed the importance of ensuring that farmers receive adequate irrigation to avoid crop losses due to rising temperatures.
Krishna River Water Management
Highlighting concerns over Krishna River water usage, the Chief Minister instructed officials to prevent Andhra Pradesh from drawing more than its allocated share. He also proposed implementing a telemetry system to monitor water distribution and enhance efficiency in managing the state’s irrigation resources.
