
Telangana Cabinet Approves Major Reforms in Social Welfare, Infrastructure, and Economic Development
Hyderabad, March 7: In a significant move, the Telangana Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, approved several key decisions aimed at social justice, infrastructure expansion, urban development, tourism promotion, and employment generation. These reforms are expected to have a long-lasting impact on governance, economic progress, and public welfare in the state.

1. SC Caste Classification Bill Approved
The Dr. Justice Shamim Akhtar Commission, which was constituted to examine the classification of Scheduled Caste (SC) communities, submitted its second report to the government on March 2, 2025.
- The first report, submitted on February 3, 2025, was accepted without any modifications.
- In the second phase, the Commission scrutinized 71 appeals from various SC communities regarding their categorization.

- The retirement age of SHG members has been raised from 60 to 65 years.

6. New Temple Board for Yadagirigutta Lakshminarayana Swamy Temple
To improve the administration of Yadagirigutta Lakshminarayana Swamy Temple, the Cabinet decided to form a dedicated temple board, similar to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board.
- The Telangana Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowment Act, 1987, will be amended to facilitate this.
- The board will oversee temple administration, revenue management, and religious activities.

7. Telangana Tourism Policy 2025-2030

- New Revenue and Education Sector Jobs: 361 new revenue posts and 495 posts in Telangana Residential Educational Institutions Society have been sanctioned.
