Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), has finalized the nomination of senior party leader Dr. Dasoju Sravan as the party’s candidate for the upcoming Legislative Council elections under the MLA quota. Before entering active politics, Dr. Sravan amassed significant experience in academia and the corporate sector. He served as a Senior Assistant Professor in Human Resources Management at the Institute of Public Enterprise, Osmania University, where he taught General Management to working executives. Political Journey
Dr. Sravan’s political career is marked by active involvement in student movements and social activism. He began as an ABVP activist and was elected General Secretary of the Arts College at Osmania University. He later joined the Praja Rajyam Party and contested from the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency in the 2009 elections. Subsequently, he became a key figure in the Telangana movement, joining the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and serving as a politburo member and official spokesperson.
In 2014, Dr. Sravan transitioned to the Indian National Congress, where he was appointed Chief Spokesperson of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC). He contested the Khairatabad Assembly Constituency in the 2018 Telangana Assembly Elections. In August 2022, citing differences with the TPCC leadership, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, by October 2022, he returned to the BRS, aligning once again with KCR’s leadership.
