
Telangana Govt Issues Guidelines for Gaddar Cine Awards
Special Awards in the Names of Paidi Jayaraj and Kanta Rao
Hyderabad, March 12, 2025 – The Telangana state government has officially issued guidelines for the Gaddar Cine Awards, introducing special awards in the names of Paidi Jayaraj and Kanta Rao in recognition of their significant contributions to the Telangana film industry.
In an effort to revive and recognize cinematic excellence, the government has also decided to honor the best film every year from 2014 onwards, addressing a gap left by the previous BRS government, which did not confer film awards during its tenure from 2014 to 2023.

Key Highlights of the Gaddar Cine Awards:
- Special Awards will be given in the names of Paidi Jayaraj and Kanta Rao.
- The award for Best Film each year from 2014 onwards will be reinstated.
- The existing Popular Film Award in memory of M. Prabhakar Reddy will continue.

Application Process
Applications for the awards will be accepted from March 13, 2025. Interested filmmakers, writers, and technicians can collect application forms from the Film Development Corporation (FAC) office in Masab Tank, Hyderabad.
The Congress-led state government aims to restore and celebrate Telangana’s cinematic legacy through these awards, ensuring due recognition for films and individuals who have significantly contributed to the industry.
