Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 at the grand finale held on May 31 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, India. This marks Thailand’s first-ever win in the pageant’s 72-year history.

Opal, born on September 20, 2003, in Phuket, is a trilingual student majoring in Political Science at Thammasat University. She impressed the judges with her poise, clarity of thought, and purpose-driven mission.

The top four finalists included Hasset Dereje from Ethiopia as the first runner-up, Maja Klajda from Poland as the second runner-up, and Aurlie Joachim from Martinique in fourth place.

India’s Nandini Gupta, who had earlier won the Top Model fast-track challenge, made it to the top 20 but did not advance further.

The event featured performances by Jacqueline Fernandez and Ishaan Khatter and was co-hosted by former Miss World Stephanie del Valle and Indian host Sachiin Kumbhar.

Opal Suchata Chuangsri’s victory is celebrated as a significant achievement for Thailand in the international beauty pageant arena.
