Tehran, June 13, 2025 – Israeli airstrikes, dubbed “Operation Rising Lion,” have intensified the Israel-Iran conflict, targeting Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure, including the Natanz uranium enrichment plant, located 250 kilometers south of Tehran. The strikes killed three top Iranian generals, including IRGC commander Major General Hossein Salami, with Iran’s Foreign Ministry asserting its right to retaliate under international law, warning of a prolonged conflict that could last weeks or months.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced, “A few moments ago, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a military operation aimed at repelling the Iranian threat to Israel’s survival. This operation will continue for as long as it takes to eliminate this threat.” The Israeli military claimed Iran possesses enough material for 15 nuclear bombs, justifying the preemptive strikes. The attacks disrupted air travel, with several of Air India’s 16 flights to the region diverted or turned back. Global markets reacted sharply, with Brent crude oil prices surging nearly 12% in Asian trading, raising fears of economic fallout as the world braces for further escalation.
