Apple Hits Record \$9 Billion Sales in India for FY25, Expands Retail and Manufacturing Footprint
New Delhi, September 6, 2025 – Tech giant Apple Inc. has clocked a record \$9 billion in annual sales in India for the fiscal year 2024–25, marking a 13% year-on-year increase from nearly \$8 billion in FY24, according to a Bloomberg report.
The strong growth was led by the surging popularity of iPhones, which dominated the company’s revenue in India, alongside rising demand for MacBook computers. The performance comes at a time when Apple’s global smartphone sales have plateaued, highlighting India’s growing importance in its growth strategy.
India: Apple’s New Growth Engine
India has now emerged as Apple’s fourth-largest market globally, after the U.S., China, and Japan. This momentum offers the company a cushion against slowing sales in China, where revenue rose only 4.4% in Q2 2025 after two years of decline.

Apple has also ramped up its manufacturing operations in India, with one in every five iPhones now being produced in the country. The company assembled nearly \$22 billion worth of iPhones in India in FY25—a 60% jump year-on-year—as it diversifies supply chains away from China. Production is spread across five factories, including two recently launched plants.
Retail Expansion: Bengaluru & Pune Stores
In line with its market growth, Apple is expanding its retail presence. Earlier this week, CEO Tim Cook inaugurated two new flagship outlets:
- Apple Hebbal, Bengaluru – Opened on September 2 at Phoenix Mall of Asia, this is Apple’s third store in India and its first in South India.
- Apple Koregaon Park, Pune – Opened on September 4 at KOPA Mall, marking Apple’s fourth India store and its debut in Maharashtra outside Mumbai.
Both stores feature Apple’s signature design, in-store support services, and localized cultural elements. Announcing the launches on X, Cook wrote: “Say hello to Apple Hebbal in Bengaluru and Apple Koregaon Park in Pune! We are thrilled to continue to bring the best of Apple to customers across India at these two new stores.”
Strategic Outlook
Apple’s dual push—expanding its premium retail network while boosting local manufacturing—underscores India’s growing role in its global ecosystem. The company is also expected to open additional stores in Noida and Mumbai in 2026, further consolidating its market presence.
With premium device consumption on the rise and India surpassing China as a leading smartphone exporter to the U.S., Apple’s record-breaking year signals a pivotal shift: India is no longer just a growth frontier but a core driver of Apple’s global business.
