Armed Daylight Robbery at PMJ Jewellery Store in Karimnagar; Police Intensify Manhunt
Karimnagar, May 3: A sensational daylight robbery at the PMJ Jewellery store in Karimnagar has triggered a massive police investigation, with authorities launching an intensive manhunt to nab the culprits.
According to police officials, a gang of five armed robbers stormed into the jewellery showroom on Sunday afternoon. Brandishing firearms, the accused threatened customers and staff, creating panic inside the store. Within minutes, they reportedly looted nearly one kilogram of gold ornaments before fleeing the scene.
The incident occurred in a busy commercial area of the city, not far from the residence of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar. Notably, the area had heightened security arrangements earlier in the day due to a public कार्यक्रम attended by the minister. Despite this, the robbers managed to execute the heist in broad daylight, raising serious concerns about urban security.
Police teams are now examining CCTV footage collected from the Command Control Center as well as cameras installed across the المدينة. Visuals of the suspects have been extracted and are being widely circulated through posters, social media platforms, and local networks.

In an effort to expedite the investigation, Karimnagar police have announced a cash reward of ₹1 lakh for credible information leading to the arrest of the accused. Posters featuring the suspects’ photographs have been released by the Station House Officer (SHO) and Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), urging the public to come forward with any leads.
“We appeal to citizens to assist us by sharing any information related to the suspects. The identity of informants will be kept confidential,” a senior police official stated.
The daring robbery has sparked widespread concern across Telangana, with questions being raised about law enforcement preparedness in high-security zones. Police have formed special teams and are tracking possible escape routes, including highway surveillance and inter-district coordination.
