Hyderabad, June 6, 2026:

In a major boost to Telangana’s growing reputation as a global technology destination, US telecom major T-Mobile USA has officially entered India by establishing its Global Technology Centre in Hyderabad. The new facility, operated by TMUS Global Solutions, was inaugurated on Friday by Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.

Spread across 2.5 lakh square feet, the state-of-the-art technology centre marks a significant expansion of T-Mobile’s global innovation footprint outside the United States and further reinforces Hyderabad’s status as a preferred destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs).

During the inauguration, Minister Sridhar Babu, accompanied by Telangana IT Advisor Sai Krishna, toured the facility and held discussions with TMUS Global Solutions India leadership, including Chandra Gupta, Vice President of IT Operations. The discussions focused on the company’s long-term growth plans in Telangana and Hyderabad’s expanding role in telecom technology, digital engineering, and enterprise innovation.

The Hyderabad centre will serve as a strategic innovation hub for T-Mobile, focusing on software engineering, DevOps, product development, data analytics, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation initiatives. The facility will support the development of scalable technology solutions aimed at enhancing technology operations and customer experiences across the company’s global network.

T-Mobile plans to expand its Hyderabad workforce to nearly 1,000 employees by 2027, further strengthening Telangana’s position as a centre for advanced technology and engineering talent. T-Mobile is one of the largest wireless network operators in the United States, serving more than 140 million customers.

Speaking at the event, Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu thanked the T-Mobile leadership team for choosing Telangana for its India operations.

“I want to thank the T-Mobile leadership team for placing their trust in Telangana and choosing Hyderabad for their Global Technology Centre. When they committed to building from Hyderabad, we promised them access to the best technology talent in the country. Today, seeing them onboard hundreds of skilled professionals and establish one of their fastest-growing centres in such a short span is a strong validation of Hyderabad’s ability to deliver world-class talent at scale,” he said.

The Minister noted that Telangana has built one of the country’s most diverse and high-value GCC ecosystems over the past two years, with professionals contributing to sectors such as telecom, artificial intelligence, life sciences, semiconductors, BFSI, and retail.

Chandra Gupta, Vice President, Information Technology, TMUS Global Solutions, said Hyderabad’s strong technology talent pool and innovation ecosystem made it an ideal location for the company’s expansion plans.

“Hyderabad offers a strong combination of technology talent, innovation capabilities, and an established ecosystem that aligns with our long-term goals. Our Global Technology Centre in Hyderabad will play an important role in strengthening our engineering and digital capabilities while enabling teams to build solutions that support our customers and business priorities,” he said.

Hyderabad has emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing GCC innovation hubs in recent years, attracting Fortune 500 companies and leading global enterprises across sectors such as life sciences, beauty technology, travel, hospitality, retail, FMCG, and telecommunications.

With the addition of TMUS Global Solutions, Hyderabad further strengthens its diverse GCC ecosystem. The city currently hosts more than 450 GCCs employing over three lakh professionals, reinforcing Telangana’s position as a global hub for innovation, technology, and enterprise growth.
