Warangal, April 5
District Sessions Court Judge Anita Rapolu has ordered the remand of BJP state president Bandi Sanjay for 14 days in connection with the Hindi question paper leak case. Sanjay has been included as A1 in the First Information Report (FIR), and the Kamalapur police have registered a case against him under Section 5 of the Telangana Public Examinations Act, 1997, as well as under Section 120B and Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

On Wednesday, the police brought Sanjay to the Hanmakonda court and produced him before Judge Anita. While the Warangal police filed a custody petition, BJP’s legal team sought to reject the remand. After three hours of arguments from both sides, Judge Anita issued the order for Sanjay to be remanded for 14 days. There are chances of taking Bandi Sanjay to Khammam Central Jail.

The BJP’s legal team argued that the arrest of Bandi Sanjay was illegal and not done in accordance with the laws. They also claimed that it was not right to arrest an MP in violation of the laws and that the remand petition should be quashed. However, the judge decided to remand Sanjay.

This order has created a tense atmosphere at the Hanmakonda court, and heavy police forces have been deployed in Warangal town and at many major intersections. It remains to be seen how the case will unfold in the coming days.
