Bookings for the Regular Vande Bharat train service between Secunderabad and Tirupati are now open. The inaugural Vande Bharat Express will be operated from Secunderabad to Tirupati on April 8th, 2023. The train will run as a day service six days a week, providing fast connectivity between the two cities.
The indigenously manufactured premium train service of Indian Railways, the Vande Bharat Express, will commence operations between Secunderabad and Tirupati, a world-famous pilgrim destination, on April 8th, 2023. The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, will flag off the inaugural train service from Secunderabad Railway Station.

Regular train services will start on April 9th, 2023, from Tirupati and on April 10th, 2023, from Secunderabad, and bookings have started from April 7th, 2023. The train number 20702 Tirupati – Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express will depart from Tirupati at 15:15 hrs and arrive at Secunderabad at 23:45 hrs. The train number 20701 Secunderabad – Tirupati will depart from Secunderabad at 06:00 hrs and arrive at Tirupati at 14:30 hrs. The train will stop at Nalgonda, Guntur, Ongole, and Nellore stations in both directions.
The train consists of seven AC Chair Car Coaches and one Executive AC Chair Car Coach with a total seating capacity of 530 passengers. It offers fully AC reserved seating accommodation and provides the fastest traveling facility between these two stations. The train serves the needs of the public traveling for urgent needs like official tours, business purposes, short duration trips, and people traveling on pilgrimage.
The train is manufactured with pure indigenous technology, equipped with modern features and enhanced comforts. It has automatic sliding doors and provides reclining seats in all classes and rotating seats in the Executive class. Emergency alarm buttons and emergency talkback units are provided for passengers to communicate with the crew in exigent situations. CCTV cameras are equipped in all coaches for safe and secure travel. It provides a safe, convenient, and comfortable day journey for people traveling to the pilgrim destination of Tirupati and back. It is the fastest traveling option compared to other modes of transport as well as other express trains.
The fares can be obtained through the IRCTC website and at reservation counters. The catering charges are optional and can be selected while booking the tickets. The AC Chair Car fare, including catering charges, from Secunderabad to Tirupati is Rs 1680, and the Executive class fare is Rs 3080. Similarly, the AC Chair Car fare, including catering charges, from Tirupati to Secunderabad is Rs 1625, and the Executive class fare is Rs 3030.
