Hyderabad April 11: On the occasion of the 88th foundation day of Akhil Bharat Kisan Sabha (AIKS), senior leaders of the Kisan Sabha unfurled the flag of Sarampalli Mallareddy Sangam at the Jawahar Nagar Telangana Rythu Sangam State Office, RTC Cross Road. Telangana Rythu Sangam State General Secretary T. Sagar addressed the gathering and called for another farmers’ struggle across the country in the spirit of the emergence of AIKS to protest against the anti-agricultural policies of the central government.

Sagar reminded the audience that AIKS came into existence on April 11, 1936, by bringing together associations belonging to different states and marked the beginning of nationwide struggles. He highlighted that many struggles were fought during the national movement with the same spirit, including large-scale movements against the zamindari system of that time. He added that after the national movement, today’s historic movement has happened again in the same way.

Sagar criticized the central government for not making a clear decision on the Minimum Support Price Act and loan waivers, despite giving written assurances. He also raised concerns about the Electricity Amendment Bill, which was tabled in Parliament without consulting farmers’ associations. Sagar highlighted the importance of the cooperative system for farmers in the country and criticized the central government for debilitating it.

State Vice President of Telangana Rythu Sangam P Jangareddy, Assistant Secretary Mood Sobhan, State Vice President of Agricultural Labor Union Burri Prasad, Leaders Anjaneyulu, State President of Rahul Tribal Union Yam Dharmanayak, and others participated in the event.
