
New Delhi, April 13: A recent report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW) has revealed that 29 out of 30 current Chief Ministers of states and Union Territories in India are crorepatis, with an average assets per Chief Minister of Rs 33.96 crore. The report analyzed the self-sworn affidavits of all 30 Chief Ministers, extracted from affidavits filed prior to their last elections.

According to the report, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy tops the list with the highest assets of over Rs 510 crore, followed by Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu with over Rs 163 crore, and Odisha CM Naveen Pattnaik with assets over Rs 63 crore. The report also noted that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has the lowest assets of over Rs 15 lakh, while Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar both have assets over Rs 1 crore.

On the issue of criminal backgrounds, the report found that out of the 30 Chief Ministers analyzed, 13 (43%) have declared criminal cases against themselves. The report also revealed that only 37% of the Chief Ministers are graduates, while 30% have post-graduate qualifications.
