Hyderabad, April 15:The Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, KT Rama Rao, is set to inaugurate the Leachate treatment project at Jawahar Nagar Dump Yard today. The project, with a capacity of 2000 KLD (Kilo Liters per day), aims to tackle the major challenge of water contamination in the vicinity and contain water pollution.

The Leachate treatment project will make use of Mechanical Vapour Recompression Evaporation technology to treat an estimated quantity of 8,49,780.88 KL of legacy leachate. The project, which cost ₹251 Crore, is a crucial step towards improving the quality of water bodies in the area.

Speaking about the significance of the project, the Minister said, “This project is a testament to our commitment to the environment and the health and wellbeing of our citizens. The successful implementation of this project will bring relief to the people living in the surrounding areas and provide them with access to clean water.”

The Leachate treatment project is expected to have a significant impact on the quality of water bodies in the region and is a crucial step towards building a sustainable future.
