Hyderabad April 17:

YSR Telangana Party has decided to approach the court after Hyderabad police refused permission for a daylong T-SAVE hunger strike proposed near Indira Park. YSRTP had planned the Deeksha to support students and youth who have been repeatedly deceived by the state government. The party has criticized the BRS government for unleashing a reign of terror with house arrests and detentions.

According to YSRTP official spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao, the decision of the Hyderabad police to refuse permission is shameful in a democratic setup. He added that the state government is depriving them of their right to fight and protest. Rao also questioned the fairness of the decision, stating that KCR had conducted numerous protests at Indira Park earlier, and the rules cannot be different for BRS and others.

“We have decided to approach the honourable court and get permission. Our Deeksha has the support of 39 social organisations and various political parties. When BRS can carry out dharnas in Delhi, why does it pose obstacles for others in Telangana?” asked Ramachandra Rao.

YSRTP held its Political Affairs Committee meeting to discuss the way forward. The party has been tirelessly fighting for the cause and the rights of the unemployed. The party officials are now gearing up to fight for their right to protest and are committed to taking the matter to the courts.
