TDP leader Chandrababu has demanded that the late N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) be awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. He made the announcement during the inauguration of NTR’s centenary celebrations in Vijayawada, stating that the decision to give the award will be sent to Delhi. Chandrababu hailed NTR as an inspiration and described him as a force of nature, rather than just a person. He praised NTR’s contribution to the politics of the Telugu-speaking people and the country as a whole.

Chandrababu also announced that NTR’s hometown, Nimmakuru, will be developed into a tourist center, and a memorial will be built in NTR’s name. He lauded NTR’s discipline and commitment to politics and claimed that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which NTR founded, has shown development and welfare. The event was attended by a large number of people, and Chandrababu’s announcement received a warm response from the audience.

NTR was a renowned film actor and a political leader who served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh three times. He founded the TDP in 1982 and played a crucial role in the politics of the state and the country. His contributions to Telugu cinema and politics have made him a cultural icon in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
