Veteran South Indian actor Suman Talwar has announced his entry into active politics during a program in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. While he will support the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana, he has yet to disclose which party he will back in Andhra Pradesh, although indications suggest he may rejoin the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Suman initially joined the TDP in 1999 in undivided Andhra Pradesh but later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2004. However, due to a lack of significant roles within the BJP, he distanced himself from politics.
Recently, Suman defended Tamil superstar Rajinikanth over his remarks during the birth centenary celebrations of legendary actor and former Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao. Suman stated that Rajinikanth’s speech, in which he praised TDP President and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, did not criticize any party or leader. He also highlighted Naidu’s contributions to the development of Hyderabad as an information technology hub.
Suman acknowledged that mistakes happen in politics and mentioned certain errors that occurred during Chandrababu Naidu’s rule.

With a career spanning 45 years, Suman has acted in 700 movies across 10 languages, primarily gaining recognition for his work in Telugu and Tamil films.
