Another Telugu woman has created history in America. Aruna Miller (58), who successfully ran for Maryland’s lieutenant governor, took over. Aruna Miller’s parents hail from Andhra Pradesh. When Aruna was one year old, her parents left her with her grand mother and went to America. Then came in 1972 and took her away. Aruna received a degree in engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Now she has become the first Indian American to take office as the Governor of Maryland. Aruna said in the opening lecture.. He remembered her childhood. she said that her entire childhood in India was spent with anxiety that her parents were not around.
